Community is developed through our small groups.


Leader: Pastor David Thomas

Location: Facebook

When: September 29 through October 27

Format: Online discussion of the book Something Needs to Change: A Call to Make Your Life Count in a World of Urgent Need by David Platt. Each week, we discuss one chapter of the book in a private Facebook group. To conclude, we will meet together as a group to discuss what needs to change in each of our lives and how what we discovered can impact our church.


Leaders: Dan and Angela Bell

Location: Bells’ home, Roanoke

When: First and third Sundays, 6 p.m.

Group: Mostly empty-nesters, with ages ranging from 40 to 70. 

Format: Bible studies and discussions of Sunday morning messages. Social events are planned throughout the year.


Leaders: Christina Ogletree and Michael Donohue

Location: Legacy Room, ALC

When: Wednesdays, 6:30-8 p.m., from September 4 through December 4 (skipping November 27 for Thanksgiving)

Group: Those healing from divorce or separated and considering divorce.

Format: 13-week program through DivorceCare. For information on the program, visit the DivorceCare website.

Cost: $20, including workbook and weekly meals.

Other information: Registration is required through this site because of class-size limitations. Childcare is available through fifth-graders. Please inform us of childcare needs when you register.

When: First Sundays, 5 p.m.

Group: “Young at Heart,” over 40, and empty-nesters.

Format: Emphasis on fellowship, sharing meals, devotions, brief topical talks, and prayer.

Location: Tedfords’ home, Southlake

When: Thursdays, 7 p.m.

Group: All ages.

Format: Encountering the Lord through extended worship music, prayer, and Scripture.

When: First Sundays, 6 p.m.

Group: A mixed bag, primarily young individuals, couples, and families. Children are welcome.

Format: Games and fun.

Format: Food, fellowship, and discussions of Sunday morning messages.
