Mother's Day Out Overview

Mother's Day Out Program for Children Ages 6 Months to Kindergarten

Tuesday & Thursday Each Week from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm

Stars Academy focuses on a Christian learning environment for children 6 months through kindergarten. Our goal is to provide spiritual, emotional, intellectual and physical activities for each age level in our program.

Our curriculum is specifically tailored for each age group. Each month we will focus on a memory verse, concept, shape and color. Special visitors will come to assist in bringing to life the lessons being taught in the classroom throughout the year.

Chapel and music are also a large part of a Stars day. The one- and two-year Stars will have a music time each day. The 3-year and Pre-K Stars will have chapel and music each day. During chapel the children will be taught a Bible story through participation to develop a growing respect and love for God and His word. They will be encouraged to act out the stories on stage giving them a new perspective and understanding of what God's Word teaches us.

  • Our one-year Stars will emphasize socialization, gross motor skills, language development and God's love and creation through hands on activities.
  • The two-year Stars will also emphasize socialization, language and vocabulary development as well as counting using the A Beka curriculum workbook designed for this age. We will also work on shapes, colors, gross motor skills and God's creations through hands on activites.
  • The three-year Stars will emphasize respect for others, listening and following directions, fine motor skills, alphabet sounds and counting using A Beka curriculum workbooks and name recognition. Learning centers such as science, home living, math, blocks, art and many others will be used at this age to bring focus to the specific themes for the day, week and month.
  • The Pre-K Stars emphasis will be on preparation for kindergarten using A Beka curriculum workbooks for pre-reading and writing skills. Learning Centers are also used to expand on the lessons and teach through interactive play as it reinforces sharing and working with others.
  • Kindergarten will emphasize phonics and writing skills, science, social studies and math using Abeka workbooks. They will learn about God’s creation through a variety of hands on activities. They will also focus on character building.

Special programs throughout the year will include a Meet the Teacher event before the first day of school for all the Stars, a Christmas Program presented by the two-, three- and pre-k Stars in December, a Mother's Day Tea in May for the three-year old Stars and a Pre-K Stars Graduation in May.
